if im a warrior and i pick ranger as my secondary do i still get to capture and battle with wild monsters?

If you mean to ask whether you can capture a pet, then the answer is yes. Just equip the ranger skill "Charm Animal" and go find the charmable animal that you want.

You can capture certain animals with the Ranger skill Charm Animal and keep them as pet.

Every profession can battle monsters.

Yes, as long as you have ranger as your primary or secondary profession, you can charm wild animals and use them to fight with you.

just remember once you've charmed an animal in PvE you only need to take the skill "Comfort Animal" with you. "charm animal" first time to capture then once in town swap out for "comfort animal" the elite skill "Heal as one" also equipes your pet but costs you your elite. Also remember that once you have a pet to make it effective and worth while you need to point some points into your beast mastery
